Directory of Professional Resources

Using this Directory

Read each introductory section carefully. There is a general description of the kind of services and expertise that are provided by the different specialists. When you conclude that one of the professionals may be able to help you, then determine which one will best suit your needs. The questions at the beginning of each section should help you make your decisions.

On the pages following this Introduction, you will find General Questions that you might want to ask any specialist you are interviewing.

Remember, that as you search for ways to help your child meet with greater success, you must also realize that learning differences, learning problems, or learning disabilities need to be recognized and understood. When they are, a strategic remedial plan can be developed to affect performance. In this way, students, school personnel, parents, and professionals can all work together for a common goal -- a happier, more fulfilling and more successful school experience.
